Between published reference points, this calculator uses straight-line interpolation between the two nearest points. Cambridge's guide does not prescribe this formula or provide a conversion for every raw mark. Marks below the lowest reference receive a range status.
Marks above the highest reference, up to full marks, use that reference's scale score and CEFR level. The calculator caps A2 Key at 140 / B1, B1 Preliminary at 160 / B2, B2 First at 180 / C1, C1 Advanced at 200 / C2, and C2 Proficiency at 220 / C2. These are calculator limits, not official Cambridge exam maximum scores.
Writing and Speaking must first be assessed using the relevant Cambridge rubric. Enter the final weighted mark for each skill.
Skill estimates and the overall mean are rounded half up. The overall calculation uses displayed skill scores. CEFR labels are indicative; a qualification result depends on performance across the whole exam. Scores within three points of a CEFR threshold are flagged for careful review.
Key, Preliminary and First share their tables with their Schools versions. This guide does not cover Starters, Movers or Flyers.
